PD-232 Dual Channel Vehicle Loop Detector 230V UAE

PD-232 Dual Channel Vehicle Loop Detector 230V – Product Introduction

PD-232 Dual Channel Vehicle Loop Detector 230V provides two channels for monitoring two separate induction loops at a controlled vehicle entrance. A loop laid in the driveway responds to the metal mass of a vehicle; the detector converts that change into an output that a compatible gate, barrier or access-control controller can use. This makes it a useful accessory when an installation needs vehicle presence information rather than a handheld command alone.

The PD-232 is intended for integration into a complete automation installation. This version requires 230V AC. Two detection positions can be served by one unit, making it useful for entry and exit arrangements or other layouts requiring separate loops.

For UAE villas, residential compounds, commercial car parks and industrial entrances, correct detector selection starts with the control-board input, available power supply and required operating sequence. A detector does not independently decide how a gate or barrier moves: the connected controller and its settings determine the resulting action.

How Inductive Vehicle Detection Works

The cable loop and detector work together as a sensing circuit. When a vehicle enters the loop area, its metal mass changes the loop inductance. The detector recognises the change and switches its output according to the selected mode. The loop position therefore defines the area being monitored.

Choose the detection position to suit the required operation. An approach loop can request opening, while a presence loop can report that a vehicle remains in a monitored area. These functions depend on a compatible controller, correct wiring and tested system logic.

Sensitivity, Frequency and Response

The PD-232 provides four sensitivity settings and a stated response time of 10 ms. The operating frequency range is 20–170 kHz. Four frequency settings are provided.

Sensitivity should be selected for the actual loop geometry, vehicles and site conditions. Commissioning should include testing the vehicles expected to use the entrance, both while moving over the loop and while stopped within it.

Presence and Output Configuration

A presence output reports detection while a vehicle occupies the loop. A pulse function, where configured, supplies a brief event signal. Select the mode to suit the receiving controller rather than treating the two as interchangeable. The supported presence choices include unlimited holding or a limited 10-minute mode.

The relay rating describes the output contact capacity; it does not identify the detector supply voltage. Verify the terminal diagram and the receiving input before wiring. The detector is an automation input device and is not a replacement for the motor controller.

Loop Cable and Installation Planning

A total loop inductance of 100–300 μH is recommended. The stated maximum loop connection or feeder length is 20 m. Plan cable routing, turns and loop dimensions to remain within the exact detector requirements.

Correct cable insulation, secure terminations, feeder twisting and a properly sealed road loop are essential to stable detection. Test the completed loop and detector before returning the entrance to normal operation.

Gate, Barrier and Access-Control Integration

Suitable applications include compatible parking barriers, sliding gates, swing gates, RFID access systems, residential entrances, commercial car parks, warehouses and factories. Opening, free-exit, presence or protective functions are available only where the connected controller supports the intended input and operating logic.

Have the complete installation assessed and tested, including existing safety devices. Inductive vehicle sensing should not be treated as comprehensive pedestrian detection. Keep the detector in a suitable installation enclosure and follow the exact product instructions for electrical connection and environmental limits.

Package and Ordering Information

The listing covers the detector. Confirm the socket/base where not expressly included, road-loop cable, sealant, enclosure and installation work when ordering. A gate motor, barrier or road-cutting service is not automatically included in the detector price.

Supply and Installation Support in the UAE

BFT Automation UAE can assist with product selection and enquiries for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain. Send the existing equipment model and installation details so compatibility and any additional parts can be checked.

Request a quotation for delivery, fitting, wiring and commissioning as applicable. Service scope, availability and warranty terms should be confirmed for your order; accessory supply alone does not automatically include installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many loops does this model monitor?

Two separate loops.

Which power supply does it require?

230V AC. Confirm the unit label and wiring diagram before installation.

Can it open a gate automatically?

It can provide a detection signal to a compatible opening input. The gate controller, wiring and configuration determine the response.

Is the road-loop cable included?

Cable is a separate installation requirement unless your quotation explicitly includes it.

Does it work with every gate controller?

Compatibility must be checked against the controller input, output mode and electrical requirements.
